Youth Skills Development Programme launched. It’s good to see a partnership from the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB), ALCOA and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports in supporting the youth programme. Such development programme will hope to improve skills for employment in the private sector.
Present was the Minister of CYS, Pehin Dato Hj Mohammad who is concerned about the rise of jobseekers in Brunei. Apparently it has risen from 6,644 to 7,589 within a year and most of them are school leavers and below as quoted by the Minister.

Dato Timothy, the Acting Chairman of BEDB, also made a welcoming address and he hope other private companies will help to contribute in supporting the youth programme. And as Adinah said during her presentation, BEDB’s motto is “Your Success, Our Commitment”.

Kurapak author experiencing fever. Poor, Alin… It was the first time that I see him in a miserable state because of his stubborn fever that won’t just go away. We were working on our project and half way through, he felt drained and we opted to walk to the government clinic nearby iCentre.
Even with the four types of medication, his situation didn’t get any better. Hope you get well soon, bro

Oh yeah, the Anggrek clinic is situated at the same simpang as iCentre. Mind you that the waiting time is quite long (probably an hour or so) and funnily enough we arrived right after lunch hours and yet it took an hour before Alin’s name got called out. The trick is (as Cabai mentioned) to call the clinic prior to your arrival to book your number so the waiting time won’t take as long.

Good Wednesday, everyone!! What a week it has been! Spain winning Euro 2008 after a 44 year drought. Anif bagged both World Cup and Tag Team champions in the recent Baiduri Expo Cyber Games 2008, the first double since Jared Lim’s double two years ago. Top seeds Maria Sharapova, Ivanovic, Andy Roddick and Djokovic to name a few bowed out of the Wimbledon 2008.
What else… hmmm.. Of course, the finale of the Tri Xtreme Season II will take place this Sunday and I will be covering that if time permits. I’ve just applied for the media pass for His Majesty’s 62nd Birthday celebration so that’s something to look forward to in July. I’ve got Faren/Zubaidah’s wedding to attend though I will be missing the banquet dinner next Sunday because I will be in Kuching for the Rainforest Music Festival.
On the sad note, I was disappointed that HHH has gone to Smackdown *lol*

Shaz Cafe. Recently a new stall was opened at Jalan Residency known as Shaz Cafe and Restaurant. They serve Nasi Lemak ($2), Ikan Bakar (yum yumm $2) and Kerang Bakar ($2). So drop by at Gerai Makan No.B3 located at Jln Residency at Sg Kianggeh. I think they have done a great job in renovating the kitchen area and it actually stands out from the rest of the gerai. This is destined to be a great place to dine by the river. I recommend you the Ikan Bakar/Pari. Excellent..

Nazlee the hero. His goal was enough to steer AM Gunners into the quarter finals against LLRC FT in the DST Group Brunei FA Cup last Monday. Md Azri Jebri has himself to blame for missing a one-on-one with Bakhtiar, AM Gunners’ keeper as he shot wide of the post. All the goals came in the first half with Ak Anaqi and Md Nazlee scoring for AM Gunenrs while Md Adid Kadir scored LLRC’s goal. AM Gunners 2 LLRC FT 1

Wanted. Shikes… I don’t even know where to start. There have been some mixed reviews regarding this movie though surprisingly critics have been giving it on the plus side. Though the movie carries a strong cast such as AJ and Morgan Freeman, it was this unknown less famous actor who supposedly is the main character in Wanted. Probably AJ was more of a marketing gimmick to boost up ratings as well as ticket sales.
Yes, it raked in $50 million in the first weekend *impressive* Anyway, back to the movies, I treated my helpers (involved in the recent BECG) to the latest blockbuster and man, it has been a long time since I sat three rows from the screen *lol* It was really packed considering it was a Tuesday night.

There are two ways you can rate this movie. If you think this is just some fantasy with the typical Hollywood elements, you will enjoy this flick. But if you are more concerned about the “realism” factor, yes, there are a lot of BS moments that might turn you off. But I have to say that the action sequence and the camera works are a gem.
Anyway, I was laughing at one subtitle that was translated as “Lembik”. Go figure! *lol* Oh yeah, my Verdict: B-
.Take care, Yuzer.
Sorry guys for the lack of updates.. I’ve been trying to recover from last weekend’s event and my motivation to blog hasn’t kicked in as yet. Give it one or two days and I should be back to my old self *fingers crossed* Anyway, thanks for keepin’ up with me, guys! You rock to make me rock
Last weekend, Laneige (Brunei) brought in a famous make-up instructor from Korea, Mr. Eue Seon-Pyo, who is also the make-up instructor for Aveda, Anna Sui, Asian Airline, Samsung Electronics and Laneige in Korea. He conducted a make-up demo on the selected models using Laneige’s latest collection for this summer, themed “Snow Bloom, Snow Pearl, Snow Crystal”.
The event took place at The Mall and it drew a large crowd who witnessed the opening ceremony last Saturday. The guest of honour was the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Brunei, Mr. Hwang Wong-kun who was accompanied by his spouse. Trendy colours for this season include gold, silver, navy blue and glamorous black, creating four different looks - Elegant Sexy, Glam Chic, Snow Bloom and Nude Scandal. Laneige’s 2008 Summer make-up collection is all about creating a metropolitan city look, with a blend of pastel colours to enhance one’s femininity and yet alluring.
You can catch Laneige’s product at Kiulap Plaza on the 1st floor. More pictures to be posted soon.

Goodbye, Yuzer. What a lad he is!! Though we don’t see each other as often, we are still on the “same wavelength” *haha* There was a farewell dinner for outgoing Area Manager of Malaysia Airlines (in Brunei), Yuzer Yusoff, who has been in Brunei for a few years. The dinner took place at Rizqun Hotel and it was graced by His Excellency Dato Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari, the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam.
“On behalf of Malaysia Airlines, I would like to say thank you to all, especially the people of Brunei Darussalam, for the continuous support and great co-operation to the airline,” said Yuzer Yusoff. “The confidence shown by our partners had produced good revenue and growth performance,” he added. He also showed appreciation to his team in Brunei who has helped him to promote MAS.
