Last evening, the two Polar Girls - Dk Aniza and Dk Era - flew off to Norway for their intensive training course and only one will be selected to take part in the Commonwealth Antarctic Expedition. Though only one will be chosen, both ladies have put Brunei Darussalam on the world map. They also will be joined by other countries during the training and this will be a good experience nonetheless.

The Brunei Adventure Recreation Association (BARA) has been the driving force in helping the "Polar Girls" such as the fund-raiser activities that was held recently. Shahiran Shefiffuddin (BARA Secretary) stated that the amount raised was $9492.13 - from public donations, registration fees, futsal tournament and other fund-raising activities.

Adiman Hj Wahid, BARA's VP, said, "We still have a long way to go until the Brunei flag is standing proudly at the bottom of the World. But BARA is ready." The expedition has also been supported by Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Women's Council, Royal Brunei Technical Services (Women Society) and many more.
